Virtual Orientation
The system is used to present the
user with the orientation materials, quiz or review the
material, and provide feedback or redirection to materials
that were not correctly reviewed. The system has logging
to monitor all of the following: who is taking the orientation,
time spent on each module, page counters, and quiz responses
and results.
Online Store
The online store is composed of
three components. The first component for the sales team
to purchase Ciena gifts, a second component for the sales
team to purchase collateral, and a third component for
Ciena employees to purchase merchandise. The store also
has an administrative component that is accessed through
a web-based interface where a designated administrator(s)
will be able to add, delete, and modify inventory.
Recruitment Tool
Members of ITI worked with CIENA
to expand its recruiting program and process by developing
an Internet tool which allows current employees and outside
potential candidates the ability to search for jobs online.
This tool has streamline CIENA's Human Resources (HR)
business processes and has simplified the way positions
around the world are managed, updated, and posted.
Role
Members of ITI provided consultation
and development services for all applications. Worked
with the client to develop requirements and managed the
design and developed this web-based application. Managed
user acceptance testing and provided functional specification
documentation for each application.
Technology used
Windows NT 4.0, Access Database,
IIS 4, Active Server Pages, and COM.
