StarRisk Online
StarRisk Online is a web-based Risk Management Portal that enables managers of national and international hotels, owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., to securely interact and exchange critical information pertaining to the daily operation.

This solution allows the client and their hotels to:

• Lower the cost of risk through electronic tools that enables closer monitoring of the insurance program, access to proprietary data and research.
  
• Save time through streamlined administrative and transactional tasks, enhanced communications and document sharing between hotel and Risk Management Department.
  
• Add value to the risk management function by putting more information and tools at the user's fingertips.

Role
Work directly with Starwood's Risk Management Team to design, develop, and implement this international, multi-hotel system that has multiple levels of application security. This system includes a full set of administrative functions that allow administrators to setup and maintain hotels and their users. Menu items and application functionality is rendered dynamically based on the authenticated user's access privileges.

Technology used
Windows 2000, SQL Server 2000, IIS 5, Active Server Pages, and COM. Infrastructure components consist of redundant Cisco routers, switches, and load balances for web/application servers as well as redundant firewalls and clustered database servers.
